Saturday, June 6. 2009Hawthorne 3 Speed Today was City-Wide Clean Up day and we spotted this thrown out to the curb while on a bike ride last night. Not for sure what I'll do with this. These diamond frame 3 speed types were never my favorites. I've cut up and stripped several Raleighs and Schwinns of this type and have the Racer that I never ride but there's something about this one I like. I think it's the black and white, the chainguard and the grip shifter. Trackbacks

Did you ever find out any other information on this Hawthorne? I have the same bike as of yesterday. It's the same grip shift 3 speed (old Shimano 333 from what I can dig up) and otherwise looks nearly the same as yours except for the seat. They're impossible to find any info out by serial number so a google search turned up you bike and pic. I'm missing a chainguard so I'm trying to track down a possible year of production or any other info mostly out my own curiosity. Thanks
