I found this short documentary pretty interesting. Briefly covers the evolution of the "Fat Bike" and winter riding & racing in Alaska. I give it 2 thumbshifters up.

This isn't a movie but what I assume is a informational series made for the local Public Access channel or someting similar. I found it on Amazon.com.

Treasures. Episode #1. The Los Angeles Beach Bike Path. One of the best kept secrets to Los Angeles beach living locals, 'The Strand' as it is known, starts at Temescal Canyon and goes along the beach for 22 miles south to Torrance Beach.

I thought it was pretty good for what it was. Being only 23 minutes long helped. I give it 2 thumbshifters up.

In Omaha, Nebraska, three slackers manage to graduate from college. CAL, STAN and DAVE, all sub-par French majors, get hired and promptly fired from temp jobs.

They then go on to form a bicycle package delivery service in Omaha.

I give it 1 thumbshifter down. Bicycles did play an important part in the movie and I thought the premise of the movie (bicycle messengers in Omaha) was a good one. Other than that I didn't care for it. The film-making and acting wasn't all that bad. Just not my kind of movie. I'm not a fan of the Sophomoric humor which this movie contains.

Tonight we sat down to watch Blood, Sweat and Gears. This is a documentary about a newly formed professional cycling team that is made up of non-doping cyclists. The team eventually becomes the Garmin/Slipstream team and competes in the 2008 Tour De France. Speaking of the TDF, it starts tomorrow!

I give it 2 thumb shifters up. I found the film interesting. It gives a little insight as to what is involved in professional cycling.

Red Light Go is a documentary about bicycle messengers in New York City and their alley cat races.

"Two filmmakers infiltrate an underground bicycle club." The club is the infamous Black Label Bicycle Club. I won't go in to what the club itself is about but you can Google it if you're not familiar. The movie contains nudity, drugs, foul language etc...

I give it 1 thumb shifter up. Quite a bit of bicycle footage including tall bike jousting and I think the movie accomplished what it was supposed to.

A 1986 film about a stock broker turned bicycle messenger.

It's Kevin Bacon, his hair and he's riding a bike. What more could you want? Ok if you need more... There's a fair amount of bike riding, bike stunts, a one on one "alley cat" and a car - bicycle chase. It also stars Paul Rodriguez and and Laurence Fishburne. At some point in our lives we've seen the movie before. I give it 2 thumbshifters up.

A 1979 movie about an American teenager who is obsessed with the Italian cycling team. Him and his buddies just out of high school, not knowing what to do with their lives. Living in a college town they are looked down upon for not attending college.

Boy meets girl. Boy and friends compete in a bicycle race against the college teams. Etc. etc. etc... Common scenario. Wasn't as much cycling as I was expecting. I'll give it 1 thumb shifter up and 1 down.
