Was cleaning up my hard drive and found some video clips from our ride last Fall on the Swamp Rabbit Trail in South Carolina. I guess I never edited and posted these so here it is now.
This rail-to-trail in Charleston, South Carolina is 8 miles long and is a sand/gravel surface. Much of the trail is single or double track. Although it has not been resurfaced since the railroad was taken up it was a decent riding surface. We rode it out and back for 16 miles total. The trail starts behind the North end of the South Wendermere Shopping Mall in Charleston.
The Swamp Rabbit trail is a paved, mostly rail-to-trail that runs between Greenville and Travelers Rest, South Carolina. We rode it today from Travelers Rest to Greenville and back for a total of 23.6 miles. The trail was pretty busy late afternoon when we rode. It currently has a detour that takes you on streets and across a busy 4 lane highway. THere's also a short segment that's supposed to be closed but people were using it anyway. GPS track of the ride one way here.
